How much does it cost?

The homes featured on our website, if built today, would generally range from $250-500 per covered (framed) square foot—this includes garages, terraces, and decks. Of course, home sites with challenging soil conditions, or those that require additional foundation or site work, can add to the cost. Our home investment construction fees fall in the median range in comparison with premium luxury builders.

What about design fees? What about our professional pre-construction fees?

Professional pre-construction services fees average 2% of the estimated budget of the home to be built. The fee is used as a retainer and deducted from the final contract price of the home. Additional fees such as architectural, interior design, landscaping, structural engineering, etc. are paid separately by the homeowner based on the professional services retained and services performed.

How long will it take to build our home?

Construction time will depend on the overall scope of the project, but our homes typically fall in the range of 8-18 months for completion depending on weather, material availability, whether all selections are made early, and number of changes.

How do you get paid during construction?

Katz Builders Inc. is paid as construction progresses. A draw schedule, such as a typical bank draw schedule, is provided. This schedule is based on the work completed to date. Percentage of work completed determines the amount of payment at the time of draw. Your lender will perform a site inspection (determining the level of completion only) and fund, upon your authorization, according to the progress of the project. If there is no lender, draw requests are submitted directly to you for payment.
